Health Ministry To Take A Disciplinary Action Against CEO Of Independent Drug Regulatory Authority
The Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine has decided to take a disciplinary action against the Chief Executive Officer of Independent Drug Regulatory Authority Professor Krishantha Weerasuriya who went abroad without getting permission from the Ministry after he returns to the country it has been reported.
Professor Weerasuriya has went abroad two weeks ago without getting permission from Health Ministry and not informing the chairman of Regulatory Authority Professor Lal Jayakody it has been revealed.
After learnt on the incident the angry Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has appointed Dr.Kamal Jayasinghe as the acting Chief Executive Officer of Independent Drug Regulatory Authority with effect from last Wednesday(20).

Two Persons Including A Disabled Army Soldier Were Detained Whilst Packing Heroin At A House In Galewela
The Police have yesterday(21) detained two persons including a disabled Army Soldier whilst Packing Heroin at a luxury house in Wahakotte at Galewela with 14 Grammes of Heroin.
The value of the detained haul of Heroin is estimated as Rs.400,000.
The Police are suspecting that there may be more heroin hidden in the above mentioned luxury house and due to inspect the house by using sniper dogs it has been reported,
Galewela Police have strengthened the security of the house.

New IGP Pujitha Jayasundare To Restructure Sri Lanka Police -Police Officers Should Only Do Police Work"He Has Stated
The newly appointed Inspector General Of Police (IGP) Pujitha Jayasundare has today(22) stated that from now on the Department Of Police will be call as "Sri Lanka Police" and Police Officers should only engage in Police Work ,Nothing Else"
Addressing a Press Briefing held in Colombo after assuming his duties at Police Headquarters in Colombo today new IGP Jayasundare has revealed Sri Lanka Police will undergo a restructuring process and Senior Deputy Inspector Generals Of Police(DIG) will run the show for media from now onward.
He has also stated that this is the first and last time that He is holding a press briefing as IGP and after this there's no press briefings or Press Interviews for articles."Media will be handled by Police Media Spokesman in future IGP Jayasundare has stressed.
However media will be informed regarding the investigations going on and when need arise and Police will be very genuine to media he has stated.
"Our vision is to build a professional police based on intelligent information.Our driving vehicle is civil security committees" the IGP has further stated.
