Southern Expressway Has Earned It's Highest Income In A Single Day Yesterday(16)
During Yesterday(16) a total number of 57,023 Vehicles had used the Southern Expressway he has stated.
National Campaign On Protecting Consumers Rights Has Requested The Government To Free Three Sectors From Value Added Tax(VAT)
As government has decided to increase the Value Added Tax from 11% to 15% of most of the goods and services including Health,Telecommunications and Wholesale and Retail Trade with effect from 02nd of May the local consumers may have face severe difficulties due to the rising prices of goods and services the president of the National Campaign On Protecting Consumers Rights Ranjith Vithanage has stated .
Due to this situation the National Campaign has requested the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe through a letter to free the above mentioned sectors from Value Added Tax .
Train Services Between Galle And Matara Have Been Suspended Due To A Derailment Of A Train
Buses were used to transport the large number of stranded passengers of the derailed Train the Department has stated.
The steps are being taken to restore the normal train services between Galle and Matara which suspended due to the derailment it has been reported.
A Four Year Old Girl And One Year Old Infant Killed Due To A Three Wheeler -Lorry Collision At Aguruwathota
The four injured persons including drivers of the two vehicles and two other passengers in Three Wheeler were admitted to the Aguruwathota Hospital for treatment.
The Three Wheeler-Lorry collision was occurred due to the fault of the Lorry according to Police.
