Adviser To The Minister Of Megapolis And Western Development Champika Ranawake To Step Down From His Post Due To Panama Leaked Papers

Vidya Amarapala the adviser to the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawake has decided to step down from his Adviser's post due to his name is being connected to Panama leaked papers Minister Ranawaka has announced.

Minister Ranwake's Adviser has decided to resign from his post to facilitate a possible inquiry it has been reported. 


The Panama Papers are an unprecedented leak of 11.5m files from the database of the world’s fourth biggest offshore law firm, Mossack Fonseca. The documents show the myriad ways in which the rich can exploit secretive offshore tax regimes. Twelve national leaders are among 143 politicians, their families and close associates from around the world known to have been using offshore tax haven.

The records were obtained from an anonymous source by the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, which shared them with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). The ICIJ then shared them with a large network of international partners, including the Guardian and the BBC.

Share Transaction Levy To Be Re Imposed From 15th Of April

Image result for colombo stock exchangeThe share transaction levy which was abolished through the 2016 budget proposals  is due to be re imposed with effect from 15th of April according to the Colombo Stock Exchange.

From the turnover of every share trading transaction the  share transaction levy will be imposed from every buyer and seller the Stock Exchange has announced.

The share transaction levy  is due to be re imposed from 15th of April  at the rate of 0.3% from every buyer and seller at the Colombo Stock Exchange it has been stated.

Two Japanese Naval Ships Arrived In Sri Lanka

Image result for makinami shipTwo Japanese Naval Ships belonging to Japanese Navy "Makinami" and "Susunami: have arrived in Colombo Harbor for a goodwill visit it has been announced.

Developing the cordial relationship between Sri Lankan and Japanese Navies is the aim of visiting Japanese Ships according to sources.

The two naval ships are due to stay here until 14th of April and during their stay Sri Lankan and Japanese Navies are due to conduct joint naval exercises sources have revealed.
