Colombo Fort Magistrate Has Remanded The 13 Foreign And Local Suspects In Connection With Smuggling Heroin To Sri Lanka
The Colombo Fort Magistrate has yesterday(07) remanded the 13 Foreign and Local Nationals who were arrested over smuggling 110 Kilo Grammes of Heroin to Sri Lanka through
a Foreign Ship until 19th of April.
The suspects including 10 Iranians,a Pakistani and Two Sri Lankans were detained during the raids carried out by Sri Lanka Navy and Police Narcotic Bureau on 01st of April at southern coast.

IGP Ilangakoon To Retire From His Post With Effect From 11th Of April
Sri Lanka's 33rd Inspector General Of Police(IGP) N.K Ilangakoon has informed the President Maithripala Sirissena today (07)that he will be retiring from IGP Post with effect from 11th of April.
IGP Ilanakoon who has served in the post for five years has officially informed the President Sirisena on his retirement from the post at President's House this morning.

Pajet Road In Colombo Has Renamed After Late Mahagamasekere
As a tribute to the great service rendered to the nation by Sinhala Song Lyricist and Poet Late Mahagamasekere ,The government has renamed the Pajet Road at Stanmore Crescent in Colombo -07 as Mahagamasekere Mawatha(Road) with effect from today(07).
During the Ceremony held today regarding the renaming of Pajet Road as Mahagamasekere Mawatha,Veteran Singer Pandith W. Amaradeva has unveiled the plaque bearing the name Mahagamsekere Mawatha according to the invitation made by President Maithripala Sirisena.
The Gazette Notification regarding the opening of Mahagamasekera Mawatha has been handed over to the Mahagamasekere's son during the ceremony.
