Board Of Investment Of Sri Lanka Signed Agreements On 16 New Projects During January To February This Year

The Board Of Investment (BOI)of  Sri Lanka has signed agreements on 16 New Projects during January to February this year with future investments of US Dollars 110 Million according to reports.

The signed projects  cover a various sectors including mini hydro power,hotel projects and garment manufacturing .

These projects will be generated around 1250 new direct employment opportunities the sources have revealed.

A Luxury Jetwing Jaffna Hotel Was Opened At Jaffna

The 55 Room seven storied Luxury Hotel, "Jetwing Jaffna Hotel" was inaugurated by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday(03) at Jaffna Town(In Northern Province).

The Jetwing Jaffna Hotel is belonging to the Jetwing Hotel Group and it was built at a 40 perch land owned by former chairman of Samapath Bank M.U Jayawardene.A Room of the Hotel is named under his name it has been reported.


Ceylon Electricity Board To Purchase 100 Mega Watt Electricity From A Private Diesel Power Plant

The Ceylon Electricity Board has decided to purchase  Electricity with a capacity of 100 Mega Watts from a Private  Diesel Power Plant at Embilipitiya due to the rising demand of Electricity in the country according to the Board.

The Ministry Of Power And Renewable Energy and the Private Diesel Power Plant at Embilipitiya are due to sign a one year contract agreement regarding this during  next week the Electricity Board has stated.

Earlier too Ceylon Electricity Board has purchased Electricity from the above mentioned private diesel power plant at Embilipitiya.

An Indian National With A Stock Of Cannabis Mixed Babul Betel Leaves Arrested In Batticloe

The Batticloe Police have today(03) arrested an Indian National with 15 Grammes and 300 Mili Grammes of Babul Betel Leaves mixed with Cannabis in his possession.

The suspected Indian National was arrested at Batticloe Police Roundabout the Police have stated.

After being produced before Batticloe Magistrate Court the suspected Indian National was released on bail and the court has  ordered him to appear before the court again on 18th of April.
