A Fire Has Been Spreading At Forest Reserve In Monaragala Since This Morning
A Forest Reserve in Madagama,Monaragala Area has caught fire this morning according to Police.
Although the Disaster Management Center and Police are making attempts to douse the fire ,it has been reported the fire is still spreading in the forest reserve.
The Police believed hunters may have caused the fire.

Former Minister Professor G.L Pieris Given A Statement To CID
The former minister of external affairs Professor G.L Pieris has today(02) given a statement to Criminal Investigations Department (CID) regarding the comments he has made on recent recovery of suicide jacket and explosives at Chavakachcheri Area.
Professor Pieris has claimed during a press briefing held in Colombo that the recovered suicide jacket and explosives are due to be brought to Wellawatta for a high profile attack.
However the Police believed the recovered items from a house at Chavakachcheri had been hidden by LTTE during the war period.

Sixteen Passengers Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Bus Collision On Bibila-Badulla Main Road
Around 16 passengers were injured, two critically and hospitalized due to a Bus collision involving in two buses occurred near the Nevilwala Temple on Bibila-Badulla Main Road today(02).
The injured were admitted to the Bibila Hospital for treatment.
Bibila Police are conducting an investigations on the accident.

Legal Action Finalized For 1050 Premises Which Maintaining Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places During First Three Days Of The Mosquito Control Week
During the raids carried out in first three days(29,30,31st of March) of the National Mosquito Control Week island wide the authorities have identified 5378 premises that maintained Dengue Mosquito Breading Places and decided to take legal action against 1050 premises according to Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine.
During the first three days of the Mosquito Control Weak a total number of 346,508 premises have been checked and notices were issued to 14,401 premises which having risk of breeding dengue mosquitoes the Ministry has stated.
Around 3000 Teams comprising with more than 20,000 Health Personal and members of Tri Forces and Police are involving in the raids carrying out under the mosquito control week.
