A Group Of Wild Elephants Had Consumed 5000 Kilo Grames Of Paddy

A Group of Wild Elephants had consumed around 5000 Kilo Grammes of Paddy which stored near the road of Borawewa Village In  Welikanda,Polonnaruwa (In North Central Province) according to reports.

Due to this situation around 387 Farmer Families in Borawewa  Village are facing enormous difficulties as they lost their income the sources have

One Child Out Of Every 40 To 50 Children In Sri Lanka Suffering From "Autism' -Survey Report

According to a latest survey carried out  by medical experts it has been revealed that at least one child of every class room in  Sri Lanka is suffering from brain development disorder "Autism".

Accordingly one out of forty to fifty local children is suffering from "Autism' it has been revealed.According to a survey done in 2009 one out of very ninety three local children suffering from the disorder it has been reported.

But most of these children with 'Autism" are unnoticed and untreated due to non recognition of their disease according to Pediatricians.

Around 60 Workers Attached To Kahatagaha Graphite Mine Are In Protest By Demanding Their New Year Bonus

Around 60 Workers out of  100 Workers attached to Kahatagaha Graphite Mine are in protest inside the mine since last evening by demanding  new year bonus from their  employer.

The group of workers had launched the protest after their employer has decided not to grant them the Rs.15,000 New Year Bonus this year which had been  paid  during previous years.

The Kahatagaha Graphite Mine Administrators have informed the Labor Commissioner on the protest .

A Resident Of Akuressa Was Shot And Killed Last Night

An unidentified gunman had  shot and killed a resident of  Ilukpalassa ,Akuressa last night while he was in his garden according to the Police.

The victim has succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the hospital.

Akuressa Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.
