Cabinet Has Approved A Cabinet Paper On Re Implementing Of "Gam Udawa" Housing Programme

The Cabinet has approved the  re implementation of "Gam Udawa" Housing Programme which aims to provide houses for all low income groups  throughout the country.

The Programme which recognized by the United Nations was a concept of former Sri Lankan President late Ranasinghe Premasdasa and his son the Minister of Housing and Construction of the present Government.Minister  Sajith Premadasa has submitted the cabinet paper to the Cabinet regarding  re implementation of the  Housing Programme it has been reported.

According to the Minister Sajith Premadasa under the  "Gam Udawa" Housing programme Housing Projects will be implemented by covering all 25 districts of the country during next five years beginning from this year.

This year "Gam Udawa" Programme will be implemented in  Kurunagala and Anuradhapura Districts the Minister has stated.The cultural functions  scheduled to be conducted at Gam Udawa sites will be funded by private companies he has stressed.

US Naval War Ship"Blue Ridge' Is Due To Arrive Sri Lanka Tomorrow(26)

USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19)The "Blue Ridge" War Ship belonging to the US Navy is due to arrive at Colombo Harbor tomorrow(26) for a five day goodwill tour  according to sources.

The War Ship will carrying 900 US Navy Officers and it's aim is to improve the corporation  between Sri Lanka and United States Of America the sources said.

This is the first time since 2011 that a War Ship belonging to US Navy arriving in Sri Lanka it has been reported.

Eight Persons Were Hospitalized Due To A Wasp Attack At Saradiel Mountain

Eight Persons Including five males and three females were hospitalized today (25)due to a Wasp Attack occurred at Saradiel Mountain in,Uthuwankanda,Mawanella Area.

All injured persons are residents of Mawanella Area and they have faced the Wasp Attack during their visit to Saradiel Mountain it has been reported.

Around 120 Acres Of Land Have Been Destroyed Due To Sudden Fires Occurred At Kudagama Sanctuary And Giragama Mountain

The Sudden Fires occurred at Kudagama Sanctuary in Hatton , Giragama Mountain in Madagama at Palpola and  a Waste Deposit Site attached to Halwathura Urban Council in Ambalangoda had destroyed around 120 Acres of Land according to the authorities.

Accordingly around 100 Acres of Land belonging to Giragama Mountain and around 20 Acres belonging to Kudagama Sanctuary in Hatton had destroyed due to fires it has been reported.

Fire Brigade,Police and Residents have managed to douse the fire occurred at Kudagama Sanctuary the reports have stated.
