European Commission Has Signed Two New Support Programmes Worth 38 Million Euros With Sri Lanka
The European Commission has yesterday(16) signed two new support programmes regarding the fields of Rural Development and Trade worth 38 Million Euros with Sri Lanka according to the European Commission.
The two bi lateral agreements have been signed by the visiting European Commissioner for International Corporation And Development Neven Mimica along with Sri Lankan counterparts the Commission has stated.
The European Commissioner Mimica who arrived here on Tuesday held discussions with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera on removing the ban imposed on GSP+ for Sri Lankan Apparel Industry and fish export ban it has been reported.
The visiting European Commissioner is due to hold bilateral talks with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe before leaving the country today(17).

Eighteen Acres Belonging To Morawaka ,Halagawa And Hemmathagama ,Pahanthimbugala Sanctuaries Had Destroyed Due To Sudden Fires
Fifteen Acres of Land belonging to the Morawaka,Halagawa Sanctuary and Three Acres belonging to the Hemmathagama,Pahanthimbugala Sanctuary have been destroyed due to a sudden fires occurred at the sanctuaries.
Morawaka and Hemmathagama Police Station Officers and the residents of the areas have jointly doused the fires according to the Police Media Unit.
The exact causes for the fires have not yet been identified the Police Media Unit has stated.

Panadura Crimes Unit Arrested Four Suspects With Illegal Firearms And Ammunition In Their Possession
The Crimes Unit of Panadura Police have today(16) arrested four persons including a Police Inspector attached to Police Special Task Force for keeping firearms and ammunition in their possession at Veedagama in Bandaragama(In Western Province)Area.
During the search of the Car the suspects were travelling in Police have found two firearms and twenty nine bullets without licenses.
The four suspects who are residents of Awissawella,Dambulla,Anuradhapura and Deniyaya Areas are due to be produced before Horana Magistrate Court.
