Third Session Of The Joint Management Forum Of Human Smuggling To Be Held In Sri Lanka

The Third session of the Joint Management Forum on  Law Enforcement of Human Smuggling is due to to be held in Colombo-Sri Lanka from 08th to 10th of March according to the Police Headquarters.

Exchanging of Information and Intelligence Information,Regional Corporation,Skills Development and Global Displacement are the major topics which are due to be discussed during this international conference it has been reported.

Twelve Countries including Sri Lanka  are members of this Joint Management Forum.

A Patient Has Committed Suicide By Jumping From An Upper Floor Of A Private Hospital

A Patient receiving treatment at a Private Hospital in Colombo has committed suicide yesterday(05) by jumping from the 12th floor of the hospital.

The victim has been identified as a 50 year old resident of Thalawathugoda,Madiwela Area .He was admitted to the hospital on 27th of February to treat for an ailment,

However the reason behind the suicide has not yet been revealed according to Maradana Police.Maradana Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Thirappane Police Have Arrested Two Persons For Transporting A Stock Of Explosives Without A License

The Thirappane Police (In North Central Province)have yesterday(05) arrested Two Persons at Thirappane Area who had transported a stock of explosives from a Cab without a valid licence  .

The Police have taken into custody a 50 Kilo Grammes Of Ammoniam Nitrate,70 Detonators and several other explosives during the search operation of the Cab.

Thirappane Police are conducting investigations on the incident.

A Ten Year Old Boy Died And Four Of His Family Members Fell Sick And Hospitalized Due To A Food Poisoning At Weligama

A Ten year old boy died after getting admitted to Weligama(In Southern Province) Hospital  and four  of his family members fell sick and admitted to same hospital  due to a food poisoning according to Police.

The Father,Mother and two brothers of the deceased boy have been transferred to Matara General Hospital from Weligama Hospital and they are out of danger now the Police have said.

The deceased boy along with four of his family members who fell sick had eaten a variety of Roll on the 02nd instant and later they have developed symptoms like stomach pain and faintness feeling sources said.After developing symptoms the family members have taken treatment from several private medical clinics in Weligama and as there's no cure they have admitted to Weligama Hospital.

However after getting admitted to the hospital the Ten Year old Boy has died due to illness.

Sri Lanka Navy Have Arrested 17 Sri Lankans Who Attempted To Sail Australia Ilegally From A Boat

Sri Lanka Navy have arrested Seventeen Sri Lankans who have attempted to sail to Australia Illegally from a Boat  at Southern Sea Coast of Galle (In Southern Province)today(05) with the Boat they were travelling in.

The arrested persons have attempted to sail to Australia through  a Boat  from Negambo Sea and it detected by Navy Officers attached to Galle Navy Camp who seized the Boat with the persons .

A Female,Two young girls and two boys are amongst those arrested according to Navy.

The Navy Officers have escorted the Boat along with it's 17 passengers to Galle Harbor and handed over them to Galle Police Station for further investigations.
