Government To Preserve Five Endangered Species Inherent To Sri Lanka-Acting Minister Of Sustainable Development And Wild Life
Accordingly The Black Monkey ,Loris(Unahapuluwa),House Sparrow,Asokapethiya and Pangolins(Kaballawa) will be named as five endangered species which should be preserved the acting minister has said.
The Acting Minister Sumedha Jayasena has made these remarks during her speech at World Wild Life Day Celebrations held at Udawalawe National Zoo yesterday(04).
President Has Appointed A New "National Salaries And Cadre Commission" For Two Year Period
The Government on Thursday(03) issued an extraordinary gazette notification regarding the establishing of new "National Salaries and Cadre Commission" for a two year period.
President Sirisena has appointed K.L.L Wijeratne as the Chairman of the Commission and Asoka Jayasekera as the Secretary.
President has abolished the National Pay Commission as well established under the President's directive on 31-10-2013.
The Newly appointed Salaries and Cadre Commission will recommend a suitable National Salaries And Wages Policy to prevent a competition may have arise in Public and Private Sectors.The Commission is due to conduct a Cadre assessment and review all remuneration structures including the salaries and wages in the public sector .
Russian Life Saving Ship "Apron" Arrived At Colombo Harbor
The 89.7 Meter Long Russian Ship can carry 3400 Tonnes of Goods and the Ship Crew comprising with 138 Russian Navy Personal.
The Life Saving Ship is scheduled to leave the Colombo Harbor on Saturday(05).
