President Maithripala Sirisena To Begin A Four Day Official Tour To Germany On Monday
The signing of a Memorandum Of Understanding(MOU) between Sri Lankan and German Associations for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and seeking assistance to regain GSP+ Facility for Sri Lankan Apparel Sector are top in the agenda of Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena's Official tour to Germany which begin this Monday(15) according to Government Sources.
President Sirisena is due to begin a four day Official Tour to Germany on this Monday per an invitation made by German Government.This will be the first time that a Sri Lankan Head Of State visiting Germany after 43 years.
As the Sri Lankan Government has identified the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises as a major force which contributes the economic development of the country,generating employment and reducing the poverty ,government is aiming to facilitate these enterprises to enter to Export Market through the MOU due to be signed between Sri Lankan and Germany ,The Government has announced.
The Cabinet has last week approved the MOU due to be signed during President's German Tour and the Minister Of Industries And Commerce Rishard Baduideen is due to sign the MOU Behalf of the Sri Lankan Government.
Meanwhile another two Memorandum Of Understandings(MOU) are due to be signed by Sri Lankan Minister Of Higher Education and Highways with his German Counterpart on exchanging University Lecturers of Sri Lanka and Germany for research purposes and to establish a Sri Lankan Studies Section at the South Asia Institute affiliated to Heidelberg University and to appoint a Sri Lankan Academics to it's staff. .
Another MOU is due to sign between Sri Lanka and Germany during President's Tour to develop local sports with German Assistance .

Ratnapura High Court Has Passed A Death Sentence For Two Persons Who Found Guilty For A Murder
The Ratnapura(In Sabaragamuwa Province) High Court has today(12) passed a Death Sentence for Two Persons who found guilty over a murder occurred at Ratnapura Area in 1999.
The Death Sentence has passed for the two persons who resides in Homagama(In Colombo) and Anuradhapura(In North Central Province)after concluding a 17 year long Trial over the shooting and killing of a person at Manindadeniya in Dodampe Area.

Bribery Commission Officials Have Arrested A Technical Officer Of Maharagama Municipal Council For Accepting A Bribe
The officials of the Bribery Commission have today(12) arrested a Technical Officer attached to Maharagama(In Colombo) Municipal Council while accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000 from a resident of the Municipal Council Area to approve a housing plan.
The detained Technical Officer is due to be produced before Colombo Magistrate according to the Bribery Commission.

Major General Milinda Pieris Has Been Appointed As New Chief Of Staff Of Sri Lanka Army
The Vice Chancellor of the General Sir John Kothalawala Defense University Major General Milinda Pieris has been appointed as the new Chief Of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army with effect from today(12).
With this appointment Major Pieris will become the 47 Chief Of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army.
Major General A.K.S Perera the Commander of Security Force Headquarters -Central has been appointed as the new Deputy Chief Of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army with effect from 16th of February 2016.
