Sri Lanka Celebrates 68th National Independence Day Tomorrow(04)
The 68th National Independence Day of Democratic Socialist Republic Of Sri Lanka falls tomorrow(04).Sri Lanka has gained independence from British Rule on 04th Of February 1948.
The National Independence Day Celebrations scheduled to be held tomorrow (04) at Galle Face Green in Colombo under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
The National Independence Day Celebrations will be held in two sessions under the theme "Ekama Dayak-Maha Balayak"(One Nation-High Power) according to the Government.
The main ceremony which including tri forces guard of honor and procession will be held tomorrow morning under the patronage of President and in the evening a function to mark National Independence Day including traditional and cultural shows will be held from 7 p.m on wards at Galle Face Green in Colombo under the patronage of President Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe.The theme of the evening celebrations is "Nidahse Hadgasma"(Heartbeat Of Independence.

An Arrest Warrant Has Been Issued Against Southern Provincial Council Chief Minister
The Galle Magistrate Nilupuli Lankapura has issued the arrest warrant as the Chief Minister Of Southern Provincial Council has failed to appear before court in connection with an election violence case according to reports.
The Akmeemana(In Southern Province) Police has filed the case against Chief Minister for allegedly threatening a group of postal voters during the presidential election held last year.Meanwhile the lawyer of the Chief Minister Shan Wijelal has informed the court that his client was not able to appear before court as he is currently is on an overseas tour.
Former Minister Basil Rajapakshe Has Given A Statement To FCID Regarding An Allegation
Former Minister Basil Rajapakshe who is the younger brother of former President Mahinda Rajapakshe has arrived at FCID in response to the request made to him.
He was in prison previously regarding the alleged financial transaction occurred at Divi Naguma Programme.
