Police Have Arrested A Female At Chavakachcheri With 70 Gold Biscuits In Her Possession

gold biscuits සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලThe Police have arrested a female from Chavakachcheri (In Northern Province) early this morning with 70 Gold Biscuits worth more than Rs.39 Million in her possession According to Police Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera.

The 50 year old suspected female has been arrested near the Sangani Railway Station at Chavakachcheri ,Jaffna according to an information received by SSP Jaffna the Police Media Spokesman has said.

The Police have found 70 Gold Biscuits weighing around 7 Kilo Grammes  and each worth around Rs.562,000 in her possession,The value of the detained Gold is estimated as Rs.39,340,000.

CID Has Arrested The Former ASP Of Embilipitiya In Connection With A Death Of A Youth In Embilipitiya

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has today(02) arrested the former Assistant Superintendent Of Police(ASP) of Embilipitiya Police D.W.C Dharmaratne over the recent death of a youth  occurred at a Party House in Embilipitiya by falling down from an upstair of the house.

Earlier the Embilipitiya Magistrate has instructed the Police on 27th of January to arrest the suspects including  former ASP of Embilipitiya Police and Headquarters Inspector (HQI) S.J Dias in connection with the death of a youth.The Magistrate has ordered the Police to arrest and produce ASP and HQI before  Magistrate Court and others to identification parade.

Three Civilians and Four Policemen have been hospitalized with injuries due to a clash occurred at a party house in Embilipitia between police and the residents.

The villagers have alleged the clash had occurred after two policemen arrived at a house in Nawa Nagara Road in Embilipitiya on 04th of January by requesting liquor from house owners during a   function.

Number Of Dengue Patients Has Risen In January

dengue සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලDuring the month of January 4685 Dengue Patients have been reported from the island according to Epidemiology Unit of Sri Lanka.

The majority of these patients numbering 1533 has been reported from Colombo District while 585 patients have been reported from Jaffna and 430 patients  from Gampaha District.

The Epidemiologist are requesting the public to destroy Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places to avoid the spread of Dengue and Zika Virus Infection.
