Five Essential Drugs Are Out Of Stock In Provincial Hospitals
The Drugs Losarten,Amildopine,Beclate Capsules ,Enalpril and Clopidogrel are out of stock in these hospitals and as a result doctors are prescribing their patients to purchase these drugs from private pharmacies the sources have said.

Government Has Increased The Special Commodity Levy Imposed On Imported Mackerel Fish By Rs.50
The Proposal to increase the special commodity levy on imported mackerel fish was submitted to the cabinet by Minister of Fisheries And Aquatic Resources Mahinda Amaraweera .Accordingly the concessionary levy on imported mackerel fish will only be granted to the local canned fish producers who produce them according to the given standards.
In 2013 the Special Commodity Levy imposed on imported mackerel fish had been increased by Rs.100 per Kilo Gramme to encourage the local canned fish producers.However the levy has been reduced to Rs.50 per Kilo Gramme in 2015 to provide concessions to the customer.
Annually Sri Lanka is importing 20,000 Metric Tonnes Of Canned Fish for domestic use.
