A Stock Of 359 Ivory African Elephant Tusks To Be Destroyed Tomorrow(26)-Sri Lanka Customs
A Stock of 359 African Elephant Tusks which confiscated in 2012 and weighing around 1.4 tonnes is due to be destroyed at Galle Face Grounds in Colombo tomorrow(26) according to Sri Lanka Customs.
The Stock of African Elephant Tusks worth around Rs.4.2 Billion had seized by Sri Lanka Customs Officers in 2012 after being transported through Colombo in a container arrived from Kenya and bound for Dubai it has been reported.
The container carrying Elephant Tusks had stopped at Colombo Harbor on 14th Of May 2012.

Homagama Magistrate Has Issued A Warrant To Arrest Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero
The Homagama(In Colombo) Magistrate Court has this evening issued a warrant to arrest General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena Venerable Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero on charge of allegedly threatening Sandya Eknaligode the wife of missing cartoonist Prageeth Eknaligode at court premises.
Homagama Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake has issued the arrest warrant for Gnanasara Thro.
Sandya Eknaligoda has been threatened by the Thero after she arrived at Court Premises for the hearing of Habaes Corpus Case in connection with the disappearance of her husband Prageeth Eknaligode.

Investigations Launched By CID Regarding Alleged Kidney Racket Two Years Back Has Been Halted Due To Influence Of Politicians And Doctors-Saman Ratnapriya
The investigation launched by the Criminal Investigation Department(CID) two years ago regarding the alleged large scale Kidney Transplant Racket between Sri Lanka and India has been halted due to the influence of some powerful politicians of previous government and doctors , the President of Health Services Trade Union Alliance Saman Ratnapriya has stated today(25).
If the investigations launched by CID has been concluded at that time and the authorities were able to punish those responsible for alleged kidney racket ,Sri Lankan Doctors involved in the racket may not have to face legal battle with Indian Police at present Ratnapriya has said.
While addressing a Press Briefing held at The office of Health Services Trade Union Alliance at Punchi Borella today(25) Ratnapriya has said without the approval of Director General Of Health Services, Major Private hospitals in Colombo will not be able to performed the alleged illegal Kidney Transplant Surgeries .He has also urged the health authorities to investigate on the Kidney Racket in transparent manner and punish the culprits irrespective of their status.

Colombo Crime Division Has Launched An Investigation On Alleged Kidney Racket
The Colombo Crime Division has launched an investigations on the alleged large scale Kidney Racket operated between Sri Lanka and India per the order of Inspector General Of Police(IGP) N.K IIlangakoon.
IGP has ordered the Colombo Crime Division to investigate on the racket per the request made by Minister Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
The Ministry Of Health has already appointed a five member committee to probe on the alleged Kidney Racket.
