Detained Former Chairman Of Securities And Exchange Commission Dr.Godahewa Has Released On Bail
The former Chairman Of Securities And Exchange Commission Dr.Nalaka Godahewa and two of his associates detained last month over a financial irregularity occurred at the Commission have been released on bail yesterday(21) by the Colombo High Court.
The suspects have been released on two Personal Bails of Rs.5 million each and on a cash bail of Rs.500,000.
Dr.Godahewa along with his associates have been arrested by Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division on 07th of December over misappropriation of Rs.5 million.

Bribery Commission Officials Have Arrested A Principle And A Buddhist Monk While Accepting A Bribe
The officials of the Bribery Commission have yesterday (21)arrested a Principle of a Government School in Kegalle(In Central Province) and a Buddhist Monk who worked as a School Clerk at the School Premises while accepting a bribe of Rs.60,000 to admit a Grade Six Student to the school.
The suspects are due to be produced before Kegalle Magistrate Court and the Bribery Commission is conducting further investigations on the incident.
