Usage Of Condoms In Sri Lanka Has Been Increased -Ministry Of Health
The usage of Condoms in Sri Lanka has been increased by 4.1 % during last 18 years according to the Ministry Of Health ,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine.
The Condoms have been promoted in Sri Lanka by the health authorities to prevent the spreading of sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS .In 1987 the usage rate of Condoms in Sri Lanka has been 1.9% and it has been increased to 6% by last year the Ministry has announced today(06).

Former Minister Basil Rajapakshe Has Given A Statement To The Financial Crimes Investigations Division
Former Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapakshe has today (06)given a statement to the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division over an alleged illegal Financial Transaction of the Divi Naguma Programme run by his ministry during the previous regime.
The former minister was in jail few months ago over the alleged financial irregularities occurred in Divi Naguma Programme.

Fifteen Army Soldiers Have Been Arrested Over Cutting Down Treas At Wilpattu Forest Reserve
Fifteen Army Soldiers attached to Mannar Army Camp have been arrested by the Police yesterday(05) over illegally cutting down of treas belonging to Wilpattu Forest Reserve and transporting them.
The Silawathura Police and Wild Life Officers had arrested the group of Army Soldiers yesterday while transporting timber from a truck belonging to Sri Lanka Army.
After being produced before the Mannar Magistrate Court the group of Army Soldiers have been released on bail and the court has ordered them to appear before the court again on 27 th of January.
Police had informed Sri Lankan Army over the incident.
