Human Rights Commission Of Sri Lanka Has Recommended The President Sirisene To Abolish The Death Penalty

Image result for death penaltyThe Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka has today(04) recommended the President Maithripala Sirisene to abolish the Death Penalty in Sri Lanka.

The Human Rights Commission has recommended this in view of Human Rights Principles and Values the Commission has said.

In a letter to the President Human Rights Commission has stated that there's a growing global recognition that Death Penalty violates Human Rights including the Right To Life and freedom from inhuman and cruel punishment and it has proved as ineffective punishment as a deterrent to crime.

However due to the growing number of child rape cases reported in the country President Maithripala  Sirisene has stated last year the Death Penalty should be imposed in the country  to reduce   such incidents.

Around 1.8 Million Tourist Arrivals To Sri Lanka Has Been Recorded In 2015

Image result for tourist arrivals to sri lankaAround 1.8 million Tourists have arrived in the Island during last year(2015) and it's a 17.8% increase when compared to  Tourist Arrivals of the year 2014 according to Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. 

A total number of 1,798,380 Tourists have  arrived in the Island Last year when compared to 1,527,153 Tourist Arrivals recorded in 2014 the Authority has said.

India has been rated as first in the  tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka  in 2015 and China has rated as second   and United Kingdom has rated as third.

Pakistan Prime Minister Has Arrived In The Island For An Official Visit

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in the island this evening for a three day official visit.

During his visit the Pakistan Prime Minister is due to sign several bilateral agreements with Sri Lankan Counterparts on various sectors.PM Sharif is also due to meet top government leaders including President Maithripala Sirisene,Parliamentarians,Business Leaders and Religious Leaders during the three day visit.

Government Will Work To Gain Massive Development To The Country This Year"Prime Minister Wikramasinghe

"The top priority of the government this year is to gain Economic and Social Stability like the Political Stability gained after  last year's Presidential Election" Prime Minister has said.
