Around 550 Prisoners Have Been Released For Christmas
Around 550 Prisoners have been released today(25) in view of Christmas according to the Prisons Department.The released prisoners have served sentences for minor crimes in prisons throughout the island and they have been released under the Presidential Pardon the department has further stated.
Two Women Have Been Killed After Being Hit By A Car At Kandy -Jaffna Main Road
Two women have been killed yesterday (24) at Galwaduwagma Area on Kandy-Jaffna Main Road after being hit by a Car.The Two women being hit by a Car Travelling from Tirappane to Galwaduwagama while they were walking on the road last evening according to Police.After being admitted to the Anuradhapura General Hospital in critical condition the two women aged 52 and 62 years old have succumbed to their injuries shortly afterwards.
The driver of the Car has been arrested regarding the killing of two women and Tirappane Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.

Navy Have Launched A Search Operation To Find A Mother And Daughter Drowned At Nilvala River
The Navy have yesterday(24) launched a search operation to find a Mother and Daughter who have been drowned at Nilvala River(In Southern Province).The Mother and Daughter have said to be jumped in to the River from Mahanama Bridge near the river .
Meanwhile the Police have found a bag left near Mahanama Brige suspected to be belonging to the missing mother and daughter.
