Sri Lankan Government To Issue Diplomatic Passports Only For Qualified People
Sri Lankan Government has decided to issue Diplomatic Passports in future only for those who have qualified to receive them according to Cabinet Spokesman MP Gayantha Karunathilake.
During the last few years several unqualified people have received Diplomatic Passports and as a result they had been misused them MP Karunathilake has said.
To avoid this kind of situation the government will only issuing Diplomatic Passports for eligible persons only in future he has stressed.

Police Have Arrested A Man In Possession Of 91 Fake Sri Lankan And US Dollar Currency Notes
The Police have today(16) arrested a man in Possession of 91 Fake Sri Lankan and US Dollar Currency Notes at Badulla District.
A Fake Sri Lankan Currency Notes amounting worth over Rs.350,000 and $2000 worth fake US Dollar Notes were found in possession of 48 year old Man from Badulla.
According to Police the 71 fake currency notes of Rs.5000 and 20 fake US Dollars 100 notes have found in the possession of suspect.
Badulla Police is currently conducting an investigation on the incident.

Railways Department To Ban Begging Inside Trains With Effect From 01st Of November
The Railways Department has decided to Ban Begging inside the Trains with effect from 01st of November per the instructions of Transport Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva.
The decision to ban Begging inside Trains has been taken after considering the difficulties faced by Commuters due to fake beggars.
The Railway Department Officials will take tough actions if the Begging People continue to engage in begging inside trains without considering the ban and those individuals will be handed over to Police according to Railways Commercial Superintendent Wijaya Samarasinghe.
