Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe To Leave Singapore Today(15) For A Two Day Visit

Image result for prime minister wickramasinghePrime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe is due to leave Singapore today(15) for a two day official visit  .The main purpose of this visit  is to get funding and support from Singapore for the proposed massive development programme scheduled to be implemented in Sri Lanka and to attract investors of Singapore to invest here.

During the visit Prime Minister Wikramsinghe is due to hold high level bi lateral talks with Singaporean Prime Minister and few other Major Ministers.

International Trade Minister Malik Samarawikrama will be accompanying Prime Minister for this tour.

The Term Of 23 Local Government Bodies Has Been Extended Until End Of This Year

The term of 23 Local Government Bodies which was set to end today(15) and by the end of this month  has been extended until 31st of December this year according to Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government  Faizar Mustapha.

The term of 21 Local Government  Bodies due to end today and term of 2 Bodies due to end 31st of October.

The local government election is scheduled to be held in March next year for 335 local government bodies.

Health Minister Has Instructed The Authorities To Create New Regulations For Reducing Drug Prices And Making A Standard For Drugs

The Minister Of Health ,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has instructed the authorities to create new regulations  under the National Drug Policy Act for  reducing drug prices and imposing a certain standard for imported drugs .

Due to the Higher Prices of Drugs prevailing in the country  some drug   companies have earned excessive amount of profit and this situation should be changed the Health Minister has stressed.

Nine Indian Fishermen Had been Arrested While They Were Fishing In Sri Lankan Waters

The Sri Lankan Navy had arrested Nine Indian Fishermen today(14) along with their boat while they were fishing in Sri Lankan Waters at Northern Sea.

 This group of fishermen who came from Nagapatinam in Tamil Nadu was taken in to custody by Sri Lankan Navy Officers and later handed over them to Fisheries Department in Kankasanthurai according to sources.

With this group   the total number of Indian Fishermen in Sri Lankan Custody has risen to 87.
