Inspector General Of Police Had Transferred Six SSP'S With Immediatte Effect
The Inspector General Of Police N.K Ilangakoon (IGP) had transferred Six Senior Police Officers (SSP'S)including two senior superintendents of Police with immediate effect.
Under these transfers the IGP has transferred The director of Special Police Bureau SSP T.C.A Danapala to Tangalle (In Southern Province)Police Division ,SSP M.H Maso who was attached to State Intelligence Service as new director of Special Police Bureau,OIC of Welipanne Police Station A.A.K.S Adhikari to Puttalam Division,Kahawatta Police OIC SSP L.P Rajamathri to Welipanna Police ,Weligama Police OIC SSP O V R P Olugala to Kahawatta Police and Chief Police Superintendent W.A,H.N Jayathilake of Presidential Security Division to Weligama

Malaria Is Not Yet Fully Eliminated From Sri Lanka-Dr Dewani Ranaweera
Although Malaria in Sri Lanka is now in an elimination level ,still dozens of Malaria Patients have been reported from the country annually according to the Consultant Community Physician of Anti Malaria Campaign Dr.Dewani Ranaweera.
This year alone 26 Malaria Patients have been reported from the island Dr.Ranaweera has said."But when comparing to neighboring countries ,The spreading of Malaria in Sri Lanka is at low level and this should continue up to the elimination of the disease" she has stressed.
Malaria comes here through the local and foreign tourists who have visited Malaria hit countries like India and Myanmar in Asia and African Countries Dr.Ranaweera has further said.
During this month Sri Lanka is due to apply to get WHO(World Health Organization)certification for eliminating Malaria" she has added.

CID Arrested Another Suspect Over The Rape And Murder Of Five Year Old Girl
The Criminal Investigation Department(CID) have arrested another suspect regarding the rape and murder of five year old Seya Sadewmini of Kotadeniyawa Area.
The suspect was produced before Acting Minuwangoda Magistrate Priyanthi Liyanaarachchi today(03) and the acting magistrate has been allowed the CID to detain the suspect for 72 hour period for questioning.

The Prices Of Cigarette ,Beer And Hard Liquors Have Been Increased With Effect From Today
The prices of Cigarettes,Beer and Hard Liquors have been increased with effect from today(03) according to the Ministry Of Finance.
According to the new price increase the price of a Gold Leaf Cigarette has been increased by Rs.3 and the price of a Soft Beer (Alcohol less than 5%) has been increased by Rs.40 per liter from Rs.150 to Rs.190 and the other Beer including Alcohol level more than 5% has been increased by Rs.60 from Rs.185 to Rs.245.
The excise duty of molasses and Local Coconut Arrack will be increased by Rs.110 from Rs.1485 to Rs.1595 per proof liter and accordingly the price of a Coconut Arrack may be increased by Rs.60.
The excise duty of country made foreign liquor has been increased by Rs.160 from Rs.1700 to Rs.1860 and accordingly the price of a country made foreign liquor bottle may be increased by Rs.125.
