Bribery Commissioner Has Resigned From His Post To Allow Appointing Of Independent Commissions
The Commissioner of the Commission to Investigate Allegations On Bribery Or Corruption Justice L.K Wimalachandre has been resigned yesterday(15) from his post to allow the appointing of independent commissions under the 19th Amendment which came in to effect from yesterday(15).
According to the Director General Of The Bribery Commission Dilrukshi Dias Wikramasinhe the Bribery Commission will continue with two commissioners if there are transitional powers included in 19th Amendment.

The Consumer Affairs Authority officers who have raided the canteen have found a stock of stale rotties, Coconut Sambol and gravy stored inside of a refrigerator there it has been reported.
Speaker Has Given The Validation To 19th Amendment By Signing It Today(15)
The speaker Chamal Rajapakshe has today (15)signed the 19th Amendment to the constitution by validating it .The 19th Amendment was passed in Parliament by two thirds majority on 28th of April. but not able to implement that up to now due to the speaker's delay in signing it.
Through the 19th Amendment several executive powers of the President have been reduced
The Speaker Rajapakshe has put his signature on the 19th Amendment at 9 a.m this morning according to the Parliament Sources.As the document has now given validation it will be implemented with effect from today sources have said.
The 19th Amendment to the Constitution was passed in Parliament on 28th of April with 212 MP'S voted in favor and one MP voted against it.

CID Has Informed The Court That The National Identity Card And Passport Belonging To A Former Minister's Wife Have Been Forged
The Criminals Investigations Department(CID) has today (15) informed the Colombo Magistrate Court that both the National Identity Card and Diplomatic Passport belonging to the wife of former Housing Minister Wimal Weerawanshe,Shahsi Weerawansha have been forged.
The CID has informed on this to the court when the case against Mrs.Shashi Weerawanshe on producing falsify documents to obtain the diplomatic passport was taken up today.According to the CID investigations have confirmed that both the Passport and National Identity Card have been forged
CID has also informed the Magistrate Court that they will seek the advise of Attorney General regarding the next course of action to be taken against Mrs.Weerawanshe.
The case is schedule to hear again on 11th of September.
