Thriposha Production Dropped Sharply During February And March

The Monthly  Production of the Nutritional Supplement "Thriposha"   at the Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited has been reported as dropped by 400,000 -500,000  Packets during  last February and March when compared to the monthly production rate reported at the end of last year.During the Chairmanship of Mr.Kiran Atapattu who is now functioning as the Chairman of Lanka Sathosa Limited ,Thriposha Packs numbering 18 laks were produced monthly according to the health sources.

During  Last February and March "Thriposha" Packets numbering 13 lakhs   and 14 lakhs have been produced at the Thriposha Limited respectively.

"Thriposha" is a nutritional supplement recommended by the doctors for pregnant /Lactating Mothers and Children Under 5 years to avoid malnutrition among them."Thriposha" Packs have been freely distributed among Pregnant and Lactating Mothers at all government maternity clinics and units monthly.

Former Presidential Coordinating Secretary And CSN Channel Founder Was Questioned By Police Financial Crimes Division

Former Coordinating Secretary to the President and the founder of the private sports channel Carlton Sports Network(CSN) Rohan Weliwita has been questioned today(17) by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division on alleged financial misappropriation in the sports channel.Yesterday (16) the Crimes Investigations Division had questioned the  former director of the Channel Nishantha Ranatunge over  the same allegation. 

The CSN Sports Channel is popularly known here as owned by the second son of the former president mahinda rajapakshe.

Bribery Commission Has Recorded A Statement From Central Bank Governor Over Controversial Treasury Bond Issue

The Bribery Commission has today(16) recorded a statement from the Governor of the Central Bank Arjuna Mahendren over the controversial treasury bond issue .The Sri Lankan born International Banker who was appointed as the Central Bank Governor after President Maithripala Siresena came to power gave a statement to the Bribery Commission from 9 A.M to 3.30 P.M today in connection with the bond issue it has been reported.

The Central Bank Governor was charged on helping a firm of his son in law to make some controversial deals on treasury bonds.

After the case was revealed President Maithrpala Sirisena has appointed a three member committee on last March to probe on the treasury bond issue.

Former JVP Leader Somawansha Amarasinha To Resign From the Party To Form A New Party

The Former leader of the leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna Party  -JVP (Peoples Liberation Front)  and it's  International Affairs Secretary  Somawansha Amarasinhe has today (16) said that he will resign from the Party to form a new Party .Addressing the media at JVP Headquarters in  Palawatte -Colombo Mr.Amarasinha has told that he will submit his resignation letter to the  party very soon.

Speaking on his decision to form a new party after resigning from JVP he has said that the aim of forming a new party is to give some hope to those who are not satisfying with the behavior of JVP .

The former JVP Leader has also revealed that under the current political situation JVP is the only party which can win over the people but the party it self missing golden opportunities .Therefor he has decided to quit from JVP to form a new party Mr.Amarasinhe has further added.

Security Officers Of The Katunayake Air Port Arrested Two Indian Nationals Who Tried To Smuggle Gold To India

The Security Officers of the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Air Port have today (15) arrested two Indian Nationals  who  tried to smuggle Gold Jewelry weighing 4.2 Kilo Grammes to Chennai India it has been reported.The Gold Jewelry was hidden inside their vests according to the customs.

 It has been estimated that the said stock of gold jewelry  was worth around Rs.2 million.
