Doctors Have Issued A Warning To The Public On Illnesses Related To High Temperature

Local Doctors have issued a  warning  today (06) to the Public on  Skin related illnesses like Skin Cancers and Burns which may have occur as there's an unprecedented hot temperatures prevails  during   day time as a result of the Sun  moving directly overhead of Sri Lanka .

The Colombo Chief Medical Officer Dr.Ruwan Wijemuni has said that the  people especially the small children and pregnant mothers should avoid expose  their skin  to the sun rays these days.People should drink more water to avoid possible dehydration as a result of high temperatures and should wear cotton cloths instead of silk and artificial  cloths with long sleeves to avoid exposing the  skin to the sun rays  he has stressed.

The sportsmen and women who are engage in long term sports activities during the day time  should be aware on the situation as they may have suffer from heat stroke which cause due to the high temperatures Dr.Wijemuni has  said.People should also use an umbrella or an Ultra Violet Ray Cut Sun Glasses to avoid eyes getting exposed to the sun rays he has further said.

Bhutanese Prime Minister To Visit Sri Lanka On Thursday

The Prime Minister of Kingdom Of Bhutan Tshering Tobay is due to arrive  Sri Lanka on this Thursday for a three day official visit.During the  visit he  is due to hold talks with Sri Lankan Government Officials .

General Manager Of The State Owned Bank Of Ceylon Was Suspended With Immediate Effect

The General Manger Of State owned ,Bank Of Ceylon D.M Gunasekere has been suspended with immediate effect on charges of misusing power and corruption the Ministry Of Finance has announced today(06).

According to the Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake the suspended General Manager was alleged as involved in an opening of a branch of  Bank Of Ceylon in one of the fastest growing tax heavens in the  world Seychelles Islands in  2011 without a prior permission of  Management of the Bank Of Ceylon.The previous government was behind this opening the minister has stressed.

Sri Lanka's Tourist Arrivals Had Risen By 18% In This March Compared To The March Last Year

According to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) Tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka had risen by 18% in March this  year when comparing to the March last year (2014).In overall 157,051 tourists have arrived in the island this March while 133,048 Tourists have been arrived March last year.

Chinese Tourists are remained as the second largest source of Tourists arrived in the island and in this March Chinese Tourist Arrivals have increased by 84.5 % when comparing to the Chinese Arrivals in March Last Year ,Tourism Development Authority has said.53,135 Chinese Tourists have been arrived in the Country this March when comparing the Chinese Arrivals last March numbering 28,798 .

According to the latest Report issued on Tourist Arrivals in Sri Lanka a total number of 478,838 Tourists had arrived in the country during first three months this year when compared to the 421,50
1 Tourist Arrivals reported in the first three months of last year.
