Four Doctors Captured From The No Fire Zone Given Bail

Four Doctors who were arrested for making false statements on Sri Lankan Army during war against the LTTE were released on a Personal Condition Bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate this morning.Three Medical Officers and a Medical Superintendant were released on condition of apearing before the Vavuniya CID on every last Sunday of the Month.

These Doctors served at the Makeshift Hospitals functioning in the Former No Fire Zone during the War against LTTE charged for giving false Civilian casualty figures for the Local and International Media.They were arrested soon after the Army has been liberated the No Fire Zone from the LTTE while crossing over to the Government held area with the IDP'S.After getting arrested they wee brought to the Colombo Criminal Investigations Unit for further questioning.

Sri Lankan Army To Train Pakistan Military

Sri Lankan Army agreed to Train Pakistani Military on tackling Insurgency Operations the New Army Commander Lt.General Jagath Jayasuriya said today .After Successfully defeated the LTTE Rebels of the Island Nation, the Pakistan Military requested the Sri Lanka Army whether they can send the Military Cadets to Sri Lanka to train in Counter Insurgency Operations He stressed.

After defeating of the LTTE Sri Lankan Army already offering the Training to Countries like India,Bangladesh,United States Of America and the Philippines according to the Army Commander.According to him the Sri Lankan Military conducting Specialists Courses lasting up to Six Weaks for the Armies of the Interested Countries.

Kilinochchi And Mulativue Districts To Get Civil Courts

Civil Courts to be established in recently liberated Kilinochchi and Mulativue Districts in Northern Sri Lanka according to the Deputy Minister of Justice B.Puthrasigamani.The decision was taken to setup these Civil Courts before resettling the IDP'S in these Districts he stressed.

Government decided to setup a High Court and a Magistrate Court in Kilinochchi District and A Magistrate Court in Mulativue.At present Court Cases related to these Districts are heard in the Courts in Vavuniya District.

While under the LTTE Control the people in Kilinochchi and Mulativue Districts went to LTTE Courts for seeking Justice to their problems and now they have to come to these New Courts under the Government Deputy Justice Minister further pointed out.

Sri Lankan Ambassedor to India Mr.Romesh Jayasinha is expected to be appointed as the Next Foreign Secretary according to the Government Sources.He will succeed the outgoing Foreign Secretary Dr.Palitha Kohona who is to be appointed as the Residential Sri Lankan Representative of the United Nations in New York.

Former SSP'S Wife Remanded For Student Assault Case

The Wife of the Former SSP of Colombo Crimes Division Vaas Gunawardana was questioned by the Police this morning Regarding the Assaulting of an IT Student Nipuna Ramanayaka and remanded till 31st of this month Police Sources revealed.

Former SSP'S son already in Police Custody along with other suspects of the Assaulting Case.

Shasindra Rajapaksha Sworn In As A New CM Of Uva

Newly Elected Chief Minister of the Uva Provincial Council Shashindra Rajapaksha was sworn in his post before the President Mahinda Rajapaksha this morning.The New Chief Ministerial Elect was secured the largest number of Preferential Votes from Monaragala District where he was contested.

Delay Of Implementing An Inquiary Report Worries The Health Unions

Sri Lankan Health Trade Unions charged that around 40 Defendants who were issued Charged Sheets over the using of Expired Blood Kits are not punished by the Public Services Commission(PSC) from almost a year since the handing over an Inquiary Report to the Commission.The Inquiry Report on the Expired Blood Kits Case was handed over to the PSC by the Health Secretary Dr.Athula Kahanda Liyanage on 01st of September last year.

Around 40 defendants including the Former Director of the National Blood Transfusion Center in Colombo and Two Store Keepers and a Doctor were among the charged over using expired Plasma Pherasis and A Pherasis Kits for the patients.
