The lives of Around One Thousand Kidney Transplant Patients in the Island are in danger as Four Essential Drugs prescribing for them are out of stock at All the Government Hospitals these days.The Drugs "Cyclosporine", "Sepasti"Erithroprotien and Tractotoklamus" are out of stock in the Hospitals since two weeks according to the Government Hospital Sources.
Out of One Thousand Kidney Transplant Patients in the Island Eight Hundred Patients are getting treatment from the Nephrology Kidney Transplant Unit of Kandy General Hospital in the Hill Country.Six Hundred Fifty of these Patients are receiving the Drug "Cyclosporine" and Seven Hundred Eighty receiving "Sepasti" according to the Doctors.Plus these Drugs these patients receiving the Drugs "Erithroprotien" and "Tracktotoklamus".
These Out Of Stock Drugs are not available in the Medical Supplies Division too and the Major Hospitals issuing these Drugs The Colombo National,Kandy General and Sri Jayawardenapura Hospitals.These Drugs are very Expensive in the Private Sector and One Patient need to spend more then Eighty Thousand Rupees monthly for purchasing these Drugs.The Kandy Kidney Patients Safety Fund headed by the Two Chief Incumbents of the Malwathu and Asgiriya Chapters made a written request to the President Mahinda Rajapaksha few days back to make an arrangements to import these Drugs soon as Possible for the use of these Kidney Patients.

Slight Decrease In Spreading Of Dengue
The Total number of Dengue Patients reported throughout the Island is decreased within last two weeks according to the Director of the Sri Lankan Epidemiology Unit Dr.Pabha Palihawadana.However this decrease may be a Shorter One and if the Rain will prevails in coming weeks Spreading of Dengue will increase again she stressed.

Cancer Hospital Nurses And Health Ministry Is In War
The Nursing Staff attached to the Maharagama Cancer Hospital In Sri Lanka restricted the Giving Chemo Therapy to Cancer Patients citing Lack of Nursing Staff for the Job,Poor Facilities inside the Wards and lack of Protective Equipment.The Chemo Therapy treatment is resricted to 300 Patients a day out of 500 Patients who ware administered this treatment earlier.
Meanwhile The Director General Of Health Services Dr.Ajith Mendis said that the Ministry Of Health decided to recruit 69 new Nursing Officers to the Cancer Hospital in the places of those who are not administering the Chemo Therapy to the Patients.

Government Proffessions Supplementary To Medicine To Launch An Island Wide Strike
Five Categories belongs to the Professions Supplementary To Medicine(PSM) of Government Hospitals decided to launch an Island Wide Token Strike on this Thursday(16) over Six of their Professional Demands according to the Joint Federation of the Professions Supplementary To The Medicine.These demands including the appointing of Grade One and Special Grade officers of the PSM and paying the Over Time Allowances recommended by the Wimal Jayantha Committee.
The Pharmacists,Radiographers,Medical Laboratory Technologists,Physiotherapists and the Occupational Theraphists are the categories that launch an Island Wide Strike.However the PSM officers attached to the Maharagama Cancer Hospital,De Soyza Maternity,Castle Street Maternity and Lady Ridgway Chidren's Hospital in Colombo not particapating the Strike due to Humanatarian Reasons Joint Federation stated.
