Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna To Submit A No Confidence Motion Against State Minister Thilak Marapana

Image result for janatha vimukthi peramunaThe leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna(JVP) has decided to submit a no confidence motion against State Minister Of Law And Order Thilak Marapana it Parliament due to his attempt to safeguard controversial Avant Garde Floating Armory Issue according to JVP MP Bimal Ratnayake.

JVP is at present taking legal advise from the lawyers  regarding the No Confidence Motion MP Ratnayake has said.

"As the Minister who is responsible for Police Department State Minister Thilak Marapana has accused few days ago  the Police  have tried  to gain points by arresting weapons stored in Avant Garde Floating Armory .On the Other hand Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has said Police knew  nothing on Avant Garde Issue and the weapons found at Avant Garde Floating Armory have no licences .Who is telling the truth here" Questioned JVP MP Ratnayake.

Addressing a Media Briefing held in Colombo today(07) MP Ratnayake has said "Now cat  ran out of the bag and both State Minister Of Law And Order Marapana  and Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapakshe have made statements supporting  the management of Avant Garde and several MP'S belonging to Good Governance Government too made supporting comments regarding Avant Garde.The aim of this group is to protect the corrupt Rajapaksha regime and Avant Garde Issue they have  involved in."

Meteorology Department Has Requested From The Local Fishing Community To Avoid Going To East Coast OF Sri Lanka

The Department Of Meteorology has requested today (07) from the Local Fishing Community  to avoid going to the Sea off East Coast Of Sri Lanka because of the  strong winds due to occur  in that part of the country.
.
The thundershowers assisted with strong winds are expected in the area of 300 Kilo Meters in the center of east coast of Sri Lanka according to the Early Warning Center Of Meteorology Department.

Presidential Commission Of Inquiry Into Serious Acts Of Fraud ,Corruption And Abuse Of Power To Submit An Interim Report Regarding Current Progress Of Investigations To The President

The Presidential Commission Of Inquiry Into Serious Acts Of Fraud,Corruption And Abuse Of Power is due to submit an Interim Report  to President Maithripala Sirisena by next week regarding the current progress of ongoing investigations .

According to the Commission a report regarding one completed investigation also due to be submitted to the President.

Around 1200 Complaints regarding Serious Acts Of Fraud ,Corruption and Abuse Of Power have been received by the Commission up to now and only investigations into 50 complaints are currently active the Commission has said.Out of the 1200 Complaints Received 800 complaints have been forwarded for relevant investigations and 300 Complaints are not come under the jurisdiction of the Commission it has been reported.

The Commission is expected to complete the final report regarding ongoing investigations within one month period.

The Constitutional Council had nominated members for Five Commissions yesterday(06) namely Election,Audit,Finance,Procurement and Delimitation Commissions formed under the 19th Amendment.

The List Of Members nominated for these five Commissions has been sent to President Maithripala Sirisene for approval.

Four Commissions namely Bribery,Human Rights,National Police and Public Service Commissions have already commenced duties since President has approved it's members nominated by the Constitutional Council.

President To Conduct A Special Cabinet Meeting Next Wednesday To Discuss On Controversial Avant Garde Issue

President Maithripala Sirisene has decided to conduct a Special Cabinet Meeting next Wednesday(11) to discuss on controversial Avant Garde Floating Armory Issue.

The controversial statement made by State Minister Of Law And Order Thilak Marapana at Parliament yesterday(05)  by stating the raid carried out by Police Officers at floating armory has been an act to gain points with the new government , had sparked some heated arguments among Cabinet Ministers at the Cabinet Meeting held yesterday.

Cabinet Has Approved A Memorandum To Re Enforce The Circular 46/90 Which Considering HNDA Course As An Alternative Qualification To A B.Com Degree

The Cabinet has today(06) approved a Memorandum submitted by Minister Of Higher Education And Highways Lakshman Kiriella to re-enforce the circular of HNDA(Higher National Diploma In Accountancy) Course as an alternative qualification to a B.Com Degree offered by State Universities.

Student who are following HNDA Course find difficulties to get job opportunities in Public Sector as the Public Administration Circular 46/90 of 1990 which considering the HNDA Course as an alternative qualification to a B.Com Degree has  not yet been implemented.

The Cabinet Decision to recognize the HNDA Course as a Degree came in the wake of public  criticisms made against Government over the recent police attacks against protesting HNDA Students at Ward Place,Colombo.

Deputy Inspector General Of Police In Colombo Gamini Mathurata Has Accepted Responsibility Of Attacking Protesting HNDA Diploma Students

The Deputy Inspector General Of Police in Colombo District Gamini Mathurata has today(05) accepted the responsibility of attacking the protesting HNDA Diploma  Students During a Protest Campaign held in Colombo last Week before the Human Rights Commission In Sri Lanka.

When the commission has met today under the patronage of it's Chairperson Dr.Deepika Udugama to inquire in to the complaint made by HNDA Diploma Students regarding  Police Attacks against them   ,Deputy Inspector General Of Police Gamini Mathurata has told the commission Police had taken steps to attack protesting students that day in view of avoiding difficulties faced by the Public due to the Student's Protest and protecting government and public properties not for any personal benefit.

With Deputy Inspector General Gamini Mathurata several OIC'S of Police Stations In Colombo have been appeared before the Human Rights Commission.The Convener of the HNDA Students Collective Dhammika Ruwankumara has also participated the hearing.

Commission Appointed To Investigate On Serious Frauds And Corruption Has Instructed Authorities To Remove Six Higher Officers Of CWE

The Commission appointed to investigate  Serious Frauds and Corruption has today(05) instructed the Secretary To The Ministry Of Industries And Commerce to remove Six Higher Officers attach to Co-Operative Wholesale Establishment(CWE)who are said to be influencing the current investigations carrying out to find out the large scale fraud and corruption occurred at CWE.

As the evidence need to be gathered  from Employees who are working under the said Six CWE Higher Officers there are unnecessary delays when getting some reports related to Large Scale Fraud And Corruption occurred at CWE the Commission has informed the Secretary to the Ministry Of Industries And Commerce.

Accordingly the Chairman of the Commission Preethi Padman Surasena has instructed the Secretary To The Ministry Of Industries And Commerce to remove the CWE Higher Officers ,Chief Engineer K.Ariyawansha,Deputy General Manager(Finance) Asiri Fernando,Additional Secretary (Trade) G.Jeewananda,Deputy General Manager(Purchasing) Anjana Nissanka,Senior Manager Jayaweera Bandara and Legal Adviser(Purchasing) Vaijyanthimala Wijethilake from the CWE with immediate effect.

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe Has Said EPF And ETF Funds Will Be Combined Together To Form A New Fund

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has today (05) said the Employees Provident  Fund (EPF) and Employers Trust Fund(ETF) which are functioning  for the benefit of Employees attach to Private and Semi Government Sectors  in the Country will be joined together soon .EPF and ETF will be combined together and form a new fund call "National Pension Gratuity Fund" Prime Minister has stressed.

While addressing the Parliament today(05) to explain on the Government's Medium Term Economic Policy Prime Minister has revealed an amount around Rs.1.7 Trillion would be added to this new fund and the Board Of Directors of the Fund will be appointed by the Constitutional Council .

Like in previous UPFA Government no politician will be  allowed to stealing the money belonging to  EPF and ETF Prime Minister has assured.
