The Deputy Inspector General Of Police in Colombo District Gamini Mathurata has today(05) accepted the responsibility of attacking the protesting HNDA Diploma Students During a Protest Campaign held in Colombo last Week before the Human Rights Commission In Sri Lanka.
When the commission has met today under the patronage of it's Chairperson Dr.Deepika Udugama to inquire in to the complaint made by HNDA Diploma Students regarding Police Attacks against them ,Deputy Inspector General Of Police Gamini Mathurata has told the commission Police had taken steps to attack protesting students that day in view of avoiding difficulties faced by the Public due to the Student's Protest and protecting government and public properties not for any personal benefit.
With Deputy Inspector General Gamini Mathurata several OIC'S of Police Stations In Colombo have been appeared before the Human Rights Commission.The Convener of the HNDA Students Collective Dhammika Ruwankumara has also participated the hearing.
