101 Corona Deaths Reported Yesterday (10)

 A total of 101 Corona deaths had been reported in the country yesterday (10) according to the Epidemiology Unit .

This is the highest number of Corona deaths that had been reported in a single day at the country so far .Accordingly the total number of Corona deaths reported so far had been increased to 2011 the Epidemiology Unit has stated ,

Isolation Imposed On 26 Divisions Of 07 Districts Had Been Lifted

 Authorities had today (11) lifted the isolation imposed on 26 Grama Sewa Niladhari Divisions (Rural Development Officers Divisions ) belonging to 07 districts  subjected to current Island Wide Travel Restrictions .

Accordingly isolation of 26 Grama Niladhari Divisions namely Monaragala ,Hambanthota ,Trincomalee ,Nuwara-Eliya ,Batticaloa ,Kalutara and Gampaha Districts had lifted from this morning ,

Sri Lanka To Receive 65,000 Doses Of Russia Made "Sputnik -v " Vaccine Today (11)

 Another 65,000 doses of Russia made "Sputnik -v " Anti Corona Vaccine are schedule to be arrive in   Sri Lanka today (11) according to the authorities ,This stock is scheduled to be handed over to the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation and out of it 15,000 doses will be allocated for the second dose for those 15,000 in Kandy who had received the first dose of the vaccine recently the Government has stated .

Earlier due to the availability of limited number of Sputnik -v vaccine doses in the country ,some politicians had stated that one dose of the " Sputnik -v "vaccine is enough by saying its the opinion of Specialists , However as another stock of Vaccine is schedule to  arrive in the  country today  ,Authorities are now saying that the second dose will be given to those who had already received the first dose of the vaccine ,  

Island Wide Travel Restrictions To Be Lifted This Monday Morning Amidst Rising Number Of Corona Infections

 The current island wide travel restrictions imposed since 22nd of May to curb the spread of Corona virus  will be lifted from 4 a.m on Monday (14)  and new restrictions are  scheduled to be imposed  from Monday will be announced shortly the head of the National Covid -19 Prevention Center General Shavndra Silva has stated yesterday (10).

Although the number of daily Corona infections and Corona deaths are on the increase and Medical specialist have been urged the authorities to tighten the current island wide travel restrictions at least from  another week to control the spread of the virus .However  General Silva has revealed the media yesterday that the government will decide on the future of current travel restrictions according  to the recommendations of Medical specialists in the country ,
