A large scale ransomware attack occurred between 17 th of May an 26 th of August caused a severe data loss in all Government offices includinh the Cabinet office using the e mail domain "gov.lk " according to the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka(ICTA).
According to the ICTA crucial
information are being exchanged via these e mail domains. some data under the purview of the President's Office, Cabinet Office, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Health were affected due to the ransomware attack
