President's Office had informed the Governors of North,East and Sabaraganuwa Provinces to resign from their posts with immediate effect.
Those governors have been asked to do so as they didnt resign from their posts traditionally after President Ranil wikramasinghe assuming duties as President.
President Wikramasinghe who is in England these days to attend the coronation ceremony of King charles is due to appoint new governors for the Three provinces afrer returning to the country .
