Human Rights Commisson Launched A Special Investigation On Firing Tear Gas To A Silent Protest

 The Human rights Commission of Sri Lanka had launched a special investigation over the firing of Tear gas and water cannons by Police officers towards the  silent protesters who held a Sathyagraha campaign in front of the Elphinstone Theater in Maradana (Colombo) last friday night(03).


The Sathyagraha campaign was held as a protest of celebrating  75 th National independence day with public expenses at a time the country is facing an economic crisis.

The report of the Prelimenary Investigations held in this regard due to be submitted to the heads of Commission tomorrow(06) it has been revealed .The investigators attached to the  Human rights commission had visited the scene both yesterday and the day before for the investigation   .
