Postal workers had launched an Island wide strike from 4 p.m this evening (11) up to 12 in the midnight tomorrow (12) demanding solutions for unsolved demands of Postal workers according to the Joint Postal Trade Union Front .
The strike has been launched demanding solutions for unsolved problems of the Postal workers including paying overtime allowance for a maximum of 240 over time (OT) hours the Postal Trade Union front has stated ,
Meanwhile according to the Post Master General Ranjith Ariyaratne the leave of all postal workers have been cancelled in order to prevent any trade union action .All the Postal workers should have reported to work to maintain the Postal service without any interruption he had stressed.
