Prices Of 637 Imported Essential Items Had Been Increased Due To The Cess Tax

 Because of the amendments made by the Government to the Cess tax imposed on 637 imported items under 187 HS Codes with effect from yesterday (15) prices of those items will be increased according to the Ministry of Finance .Price hike | theindependentbd.com

President Ranil Wikramasinghe as the  Minister of Investment Promotions  has issued the relevant government notification on November 14, by virtue of the powers vested with  him by Section 14 of Export Development Act No. 40 of 1979.

Accordingly  the prices of imported items including  butter, dairy spreads, cheese, curd, onions, garlic, many  vegetables/ fruits, soap, wet wipes, cement, notebooks, exercise books, air conditioning machines, household or laundry washing machines, and ballpoint pens will be increased it has been announced.
