Tens of thousand of People who gathered at Galle face green last evening (09) despite the closure of that area to the public ,are still there and demanding the President Gotabaya Rajapakshe to resign from his post and government to step down .
Amidst Heavy showers prevailing in Colombo District since last night these protesters have surrounded the President's house and President's Secretariat in Galle Road as well as the Shangri la Hotel where some political leaders and higher officials believes to be staying in due to the Public protests .
The protesters say they want all 225 members of the Parliament to go home as they never discussed the problems faced by the public including gas/fuel /milk powder shortage and increased food prices during the two day debate held on the current crisis at Parliament few days back ."Government should step down so people can appoint a people friendly government" they have stated .
