Protesters In Front Of President's House Set Fire To Few Vehicles -Police Curfew Imposed In Few Areas
The Protesters who were protested in front of the Road that leads to President' s house at Nugegoda (Colombo District ) had acted violently and set fire to few buses parked there including a bus belonging to Sri Lanka Army it has been reported .
Due to the clashes occurred between protesters and forces 10 persons including few journalists had been injured and admitted to Colombo National and South Colombo teaching hospitalist for treatment IT has been reported .

A massive protest campaign is being launched by thousands of people in front 0f the road leading to President Gotabaya Rajapakshe's house near Mirihana entry road In Nugegoda(Colombo District ) demanding solutions for current crisis and resign from the President 's post ,
Nugegoda -Maharagma-19 Road had been completely blocked due to this protest it has been reported .Police and Army officers are being deployed along with road barriers near the entry road to prevent protesters from entering President's house at Pangiriwatte in Mirihana .Police have seen involved in arguments with protesters and forces had even used tear gas and water canons to disperse the protesters ,
However protesters who are believed to be individually organized the protest have seen continuously protected in front of the Mirihana entry road .President has reported as not at home during the protest it has been revealed . /

Public Utilities Commission Approved A 13 HOUR Long Power Cut
Public Utilities Commission which has formed to benefit the consumers had done the opposite by approving a 13 hour long Power Cut for tomorrow (31)in many areas of the Country citing the shortage of fuel to generate electricity .
According to the Chairman of the Commission Janaka Ratnayake the 13 hour long power cut the longest Power cut to be implemented in a single day here so far , is scheduled to be implemented by 4 to 6 hours at a time .This Power cut will be implemented from 3 a.m to midnight tomorrow (31) the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission has stated .
Meanwhile Electrical Engineers attached to Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) had warned that if the authorities have failed to supply Fuel to the Electricity Board continuously a need will arise to increase the Power cut hours to 15 hours .

Engine Drivers And Railway Guards Had Launched A Trade Union Action
Engine Drivers and Railway Guards had withdrawn from Over time (OT) work with effect from midnight today (29) according to Railway Trade unions .
The trade union action was launched after the talks held with Railway authorities had failed the Trade Unions had stated .Due to this trade union action 90 percent of Train journeys will be suspended it has been reported .
Train Fares To Be Increased By 58 Percent
This increase will be lower when compare to the Bus fare increase the Minister has stressed. Train fares are not increased recently although the fuel prices had been increased four times in a row he has stated .
Public Utilities Commission Had Approved A 10 Hour Long Power Cut For Tomorrow (30)
First time in Sri Lanka's history the Public Utilities Commission had given approval to Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to implement ten hour long power cut for 26 zones in the Country tomorrow (30) due to lack of fuel supply to generate electricity .
Accordingly 20 Zones from "A " to "S" will face 10 hour power cut from 8 a,m to midnight tomorrow (30) and the 06 zones from "M " to "Z " will face continuous 10 hour long Power cut from 8 a.m to 6 p.m tomorrow the Public Utilities Commission has stated .
Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today ,the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission Janaka Ratnayake has stated that due to the long hour power cuts State sector employees should be directed to work from home these days .However he didn't explain how these employees can work from home when a power cut is on .

Two Persons Died Due To School Van-Three Wheeler Collision
Two Persons died due to School Van -Three Wheeler collision at Paramaulla area on Giriulla-Alawwa road today (28) according to Police .
Accordingly a 28 and 32 year old persons who were travelling in the Three wheeler at the time of the incident and resided in Udagankanda area had succumbed to their injuries after admitting to Alawwa District Hospital with serious injuries .
The head on collision between Three wheeler and school van occurred when the three wheeler attempted to overtake a tipper truck it has been revealed .

A Motor Vehicle Had Reduced To Ashes Due To A Fire
A Motor Vehicle was reduced to ashes after catching a fire on the Baseline Flyover bridge in Dematagoda area (Colombo City )this evening (26) it has been reported .
Two parsons inside the vehicle who are residents in Kaduwela area had escaped unharmed according to police .
The incident occurred whilst the Motor car travelling from Borella to Orugodawatte area . Three fire trucks of the Fire services department in Colombo arrived at the scene and doused the fire completely However the fire brigade couldn't prevent destruction of the vehicle. According to sources The cause of the fire has not yet been identified .

The lightning struck on a Coconut tree at the Cemetery and as a result Twenty five persons stand nearby had fallen according to eye witnesses .All those persons had been admitted to Mawanalla Hospital for treatment The lightning was struck just before the burial of a deceased female according to Mawanalla Police .

There Will Be No 10 Hour Power Cuts As Planned Next Week -Public Utilities Commission
There will be no 10 hour Island wide Power cuts next week as earlier planned due to the assurance given by Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco ) to provide an adequate supply of fuel to Ceylon Electricity Board during next two weeks according to Public Utilities Commission .
If the Petroleum Corporation supplies the daily requirement of fuel to the Electricity Board from next Monday there's no need to increase the power cut hours to 10 hours the Commission chairman Janaka Ratnayake has stated ,

Transport Minister Suspended The Decision Taken To Increase Train Fares From Yesterday (13)
Transport Minister Dilum Amunugama had suspended the decision taken by the Railway Authorities t
o increase train fares of long distance Special and Intercity Train services with effect from last night (23).
Transport Minister had suspended the decision of increasing Train fares as the new increased train fares were announced before receiving Ministry approval .However the fares of Long distance Special trains and Intercity trains will be increased from next Monday (28) mainly to cover fuel cost the Minister has stressed .
