Although spreading Corona virus is
well contained in Sri Lanka, people should follow Anti Corona health guidelines further to avoid spreading the  virus here as risk factors still there in the society according to the Director of Epidemeology Unit Dr.Sudath Samaraweera.

Some people in the society imcluding many school children are not adapting Anti Corona health guidelines issued by the Health Ministry including  wearing of Masks in public places and transport services and it will cause a huge problem he has stressed during a press briefing held at Health Promotions Bureau last Tuesday (15) evening  on the Corona epidemic threat .

Some drivers and conductors in private buses too avoid wearing masks during duty and as a result health officials are holding talks with private bus owners to make the Bus drivers and conductors  aware on the need to wear Masks during duty Dr.Samaraweera has said .

If people are continuously avoiding wearing of Masks in public ,laws will come in to effect regarding imposing fines on those not adapting Corona health guidelines he has revealed.

However according to Health Trade Unions although Health officials are giving advise to the common public to adapt corona health guidelines they along with higher officials in the country not wearing masks during public functions and press briefings openly and questioned how can people adapt those guidelines under these circumstances.

Higher officials should be examplery on  this issue and people will follow them trade unions had stressed.

Meanwhile Although other countries avoid large gatherings due to the spreading of Corona virus some officials had given permission to hold annual International Book fair at BMICH Colombo with restrictions it has been revealed. the Book Exhibition which had already started will be held with the participation of 300 people at once whilst adapting corona health guidelines including wearing masks, keeping social distancing and cleaning hands by soap / sanitizers Dr.Samaraweera has stated.

However the question is how they can hold this exhibition whilst adapting these rules strictly  for a week period as the fair is  known as a crowd puller and people from all parts of the  country usually visiting this exhibition annually .If a corona positive or a suspected cases visits the exhibition officials do not have details of other participants at the fair as they are not being registered trade unions said .
