A Five Member Sub Committe Has Been Appointed To Make Constitutional Amendments During Yesterday's Cabinet Meeting

  1. During the first Cabinet meeting of the
    new government held yesterday  (19) under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapakshe at Presidential Secretariet in Colombo , A five member Cabinet sub committee headed by Minister of justice Ali Sabry has been appointed to make recommendations to the Cabinet on Constitutional amendments .

Accordinary the Cabinet sub committee is comprising of Ministers Ali Sabry, Nimal Siripala De Silva, Professor G.L. Pieris, Dinesh Gunawardane and Udaya Gammanpila.

If there's a need to appoint an expert committee to draft a new Constitution the Justice Minister Ali Sabry is being given powers to act on that it has been stated .

The Cabinet has also decided not to change some sections of the 19 th amendment introduced by the goof governance government including the limiting of President's term to two times, President's term duration of five years and the Right to information act according to sources.
