Six Persons Including Three Females Arrested Over Violent Protest In Front Of Agulana Police

Police have arrested 06 persons
including 03 females over violent behaviour during a protest held in front of Agulana   Police station last evening  (16).

The prorestors had attempted to pelt stones towards the police station during the protest.

Police had also fired tear gas to disperse the protestors who were demonstrated in front of Agulana Police station against taking two main witnesses of a  murder case of 39 year old Fisherman who had died after shot by the police at Lunawa ,Moratuwa,   on 10 th of July, to tne police station.

The two witnesses were taken to Mount Lavinia and Moratumulla Police stations by a Police jeep In wee hours of yesterday before taking to the court it has been reported.,  Later the two witnesses were handed over to the Agulana Police.

The protesters are the relatives of the deceased fisherman and the residents of Agulana area.

The course case on the murder case of the fisherman was held at Moratuwa Magistrate Court yesterday and the court has ordered  to handover the investigations of the murder case of the  fisherman to the criminal Investigations Department  (CID ).The court case is due to proceed on 30 th of July.

The three Police officers who are responsible for tne murder of the fishermen had interdicted over the incident.
