A 33 year old doctor attached to
Anuradhapura General Hospital had been arrested this evening (09)by the Maradana (Colombo Dirstrict ) police over robbing of a huge amount of money brought to pay the overtime payments of Colombo National Hospital staff it has been reported .
The suspected Doctor was chased and arrested by a Female police officer with the help of two intelligance officers according to Maradana police .
The suspect had shown a fake pistol to the officers in charge of the money bag at the National hospital and stolen over Rs.7.9 million it has been revealed .The suspect was caught whilst running away in a trishaw and he was under the influence of liquor at the time of his arrest the Police have revealed .
The suspect is temporarily residing at a house in Borella as he has undergone a training at Colombo National Hospital regarding his speciakized studues according to reports . .
The cause behind the robbery has not yet been revealed and Maradana police are investigating over the incident .
According to the sources the female Police officer who had arrested the suspected doctor over the robbery is a chief inspector who was last year fined by the supreme court iver arresting a teanage girl to cover up a case against politician who had involved in a rape case.
