Government has decided to impose an
island wide curfew from 6 p.m this evening (20)until 6 a.m next Monday morning (23) to combat against spreading Corona Virus (Covid-19) in the country .

Accordingly All Expressways in the country closed down at 4 p.m this evening and before that all Trains stopped running 3.30 p.m it has been announced. The train services is scheduled to resume on 6 a.m this Monday morning according to Railway Control Room.
Earlier Police Headquarters had imposed curfew in Puttalam, Chilaw and Kochchikade areas since 6 p.m last Wednesday (18)evening due to a large number of persons arrived in from Italy and several countries freely moving without undergoing self quarantine and in Wattala and Ja-Ela areas since last evening (19)where few Corona virus positives had been identified .
The curfew imposed in Wattala and Ja-Ela areas had been lifted at 8 a.m this morning and remanded imposed it since 2 p.m .
People are being requested to stay at home and all pilgrims and picnics within the country too banned since yesterday the National Action Center on preventing Spreading of Corona virus has been announced.
Sri Lanka has also banned operating foreign pilgrim tours until further notice due to the corona virus outbreak in other countries.
A section of the pilgrims who had visited Dambadiwa ,India before banning foreign pilgrim tours brought to the island last morning through a special flight .
Meanwhile since the announcement of curfew this morning long queue s had seen Infront of Supermarkets and Petrol sheds throughout the island.
Extra buses and Trains had been utilised in Colombo fort to transport commuters to their home before the curfew .
