CID Had Taken In To Custody Former Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne Whilst Receiving Treatment At Lanka Hospital -Colombo Additional Magistrate Remanded Him Until Monday -Dr.Senaratne Remains In Hospital Under Prison Custody

Department(CID)had taken in to custody  Former Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne whilst receiving treatment at Lanka Hospital ,Narahenpita around 2.15 p.m yesterday (27) over organizing a Media Briefing on white van abductions prior to Presidential Election .

Colombo Additional Magistrate Shalini Perera who had visited Lanka Hospital ,Narahenpita last noon to inspect  the condition of Dr.Senaratne has ordered to remand him until this Monday (30) .The bail application submitted to Colombo Additional Magistrate earlier this week by Dr.Senaratne to  preventing his arrest also scheduled to be taken in to consideration on that day.

 Additional Magistrate has ordered the Prison commissioner to take Dr.Senaratne under his custody and later Prison guards had arrived in Lanka Hospitals to guard him.

Earlier it has been reported that the CID officers attempted to record a statememt from Dr.Senaratne last  Thursday (26)night .

CID Officers  who had obtained an arrest warrant to arrest Dr.Senaratne from Colombo Magistrate court had surrounded his residemce at Stanmore crescent ,Colombo -07 last Thursday evening to arrest him ,but not been able to find him there as Dr.Senaratne was absent at that time .

However last Thursday night it has been reported that he had been admitted to Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of Lanka Hospital .

Before taken in to custody Attorney General's Department has informed Colombo Additional Magistrate last morning  that Dr.Senaratne was not arrested so far.

Meanwhile the two persons who is in remand over revealing  on white van abdutions during the press brirfing held by Dr.Senaratne had been further remanded until 06 th of January by the Colombo Magistrare court after they were  produced before the court yesterday .
