Bakery Owners Had Dropped The Increased Price Of Bread

All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association had scrapped the recent price hike of a 450 Gramme Bread Loaf by Rs.2 and began selling it for the old price with effect from  midnight yesterday (12).

The price of Bread has been increased by Rs.2 with effective from midnight last Friday (06)by the All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association following the announcement made by Prima and Serendib Flour Companies that they have increased the price of a Kilo Gramme of Wheat Flour by Rs. 5.50 .

However after the flour companies agreed to sell the Wheat flour for old price Bakery Owners Association too has decided to sell the Bread for old price it has been revealed.

As the price hike of Wheat Flour was  made without the permission of Consumer Affairs Authority ,The authority had raided and nabbed several traders throughout the island who have sold Wheat flour for the increased price .
