Three persons including a Van driver and two females had been killed and two others had been critically injured and hospitalized after the Van they were travelling in colliding with a Tipper Truck at Kudameegaswewa in Habarana -Dambullla main road last night (15).The two critically injured including a male and a female had been admitted to the Dambulla Base Hospital where the female had been transferred to the Kandy Teaching Hospital for further treatment .
The deceased were residents of Kaduruwela area in Polonnaruwa District it has been reported.
Habarana Police have arrested the Tipper driver over the incident .Police have confirmed the identities of the deceased and injured through their identity cards and Mobile numbers found inside the Van .
The incident occurred when the Van travelling from Dambulla to Polonnaruwa had collided with the Tipper transporting sand From Polonnruwa to Dambulla. However Police were unable to identify the purpose and the destination of those travelling in the Van
.
