A 20 Year Old Youth Was Arrested With A Stock Of Foreign Made Illegal Cigarette Sticks

Airport Customs Officers have today (06) arrested a 20 year old Sri Lankan who had attempted to smuggle 153 Cigarette cartons containing 30,600 foreign made Cigarette sticks to Sri Lanka Illegally at the arrival lounge in Katunayake ,Bandarnaike International Airport .

The suspect who is a resident of Ragama area  arrived in Sri Lanka from Dubai had attempted to smuggle the stock of Cigarette Sticks hidden inside of two cardboard boxes  illegally to the country

The suspect was arrested when he attempted to leave from the Airport through the Green Channel according to reports.

The estimated value of the Illegal Cigarette sticks taken into custody in possession of the suspect is around Rs.1.83 million it has been revealed.
