Parliament Privileges Committee has
yesterday (08)decided to filed court cases against seven MP's including five Opposition and two Government MP's who had found guilty over the brawl incident occurred at Parliament on 14th ,15 th and 16 th of November last year.
Accordingly United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA)MP's Johnston Fernando ,Prasanna Ranaweera ,Padmasiri Udaya Shantha ,Dilum Amunugama and Ananda Aluth Gamage will be faced legal action against their Violent behaviour ranging from throwing chili powder ,breaking microphones on speakers table ,throwing chairs towards Policemen etc .
Two governing United National Party (UNP ) MP's Ranjan Ramanayake and Palitha Thewarapperuma have faced legal action over the charges of bringing knife to the Parliament.
Another 52 MP's including 49 Opposition UPFA MP's ,02 UNP MP's and a Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP)MP who had been also charged on the incident will face different punishments soon according to Parliamentary sources .The Parliament Privilages Committee will be decided the action should be taken against them soon sources said .
A Committee appointed by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to probe on the Parliamentary brawl incident chaired by Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri has handed over the Committee report to the speaker on 22 nd of January by levelling charges against 59 MP's over the incident .
