Without A General Election No Need To Continue As Prime Minister -Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe

Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe
has told the United People's Freedom Alliance  (UPFA) MP's who had arrived in his official Residence at Wijerama Road in Colombo -07   he has resigned from premier post as has no intention to hold Prime Minister Post without a General Election .

Adressing the gathering after signing the letter of his resignation from.premier post, Former President Rajapakshe has stressed he has decided to resign from premiership post to pave the way for president to appoint a new Prime Minister at this stage .

The former President has signed the resignation letter amidst the chanting of pIrith by Bhikkus .

Meanwhile UPFA MP.Dinesh Gunawardana  has told the media after the event the opposition Leader post should have given to former President Rajapakshe
