Attorney General Has Informed The Speaker Of His Inability To Express Legal Validity Of Recent Change In Premier Post

Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya
has informed the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya through a letter that due to the role of Attorney General it is not suitable to express his opinion on the legal validity of the recent changes of Prime minister 's post and the government .

Speaker Jayasuriya has earlier requested the Attorney General to express his opinion on the legal validity of changes in Prime minister's post and the government recently .

National Police Commission Has Suspended Transfers Of 53 Police Officers Ordered By IGP Without Commission's Approval

National Police Commission has today
(31)suspended the transfers  of 53 Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP) and Superintendents of Police (SP)ordered by Inspector General Of Police (IGP)Pujith Jayasundara without getting pror approval of the Commission.

These transfers are scheduled to be implemented with effect from tomorrow (01) for a month period on temporary basis it has been revealed.

IGP Jayasundara had submitted the list of transfered ASP's and SP's to the Police Commission after ordered the transfers it has been revealed.

Speaker Expressed Confidence To Foreign Ambassadors On Finding A Solotion For The Current Crisis According To Constitution

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya Had today
(31)expressed his confidence to  four Foreign Ambassadors and the permanant representative of the United Nations in Sri Lanka Hana Singer that a solution for the current political crisis can be found democratically according to the Constitution .

The Speaker had made this remark during a meeting held with United Nations permanant representative to Sri Lanka Hana Singer,and Ambassadors of Britain ,European Union ,Canada and Germany at the Parliamentary complex in Colombo this evening .

During the meeting the Foreign representatives had sympathised the Constitutional crisis occurred in Sri Lanka at present and say the country will face unfavorable consequences as a result .

Speaker had requested the Foreign delegates not to take any immediate action at state level against Sri Lanka due to the current crisis.

Group Of University Students Marched Towards University Grants Commission Building And Broken The Gates

A Group of University Students
attached to South Eastern and Rajarata Universities who had marched towards University Grants Commission  (UGC)in Ward Place from Colombo Fort this evening (31)have broken the locks of UGC Gate and entered into premises forcibly it has been reported.

The group of students launched the protest march by demanding solutions for their academic problems in two universities had protested Infront of UGC and left the premises without funding any solution.

Security around UGC Building has tightened as a result of the Protest.

Lotus Road and Ward Place had been closed for hours due to the Protest march and heavy traffic had been reported in roads upto town hall as a result.

Two Persons Entered Temple Trees Had Caused A Tense Situition

A tense situation had  occurred at the Prime Minister's official residence "Temple Trees " in Colombo today  (31) after two persons introducing  them as State officers attached to the Prime Minister's office occupied by newly appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe enters the Temple Trees and failed to prove their identity it has been reported .

Due to this United National Party members in Temple Trees premises had opposed the presence of the two.persons and Premier Ranil  Wikramasinghe 's security officers had intervened and eased the situation according to sources.

Meanwhile S.Amarasekare the Secretary of the Newly appointed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe  has said the two persons had gone  to Temple Trees to maintain the statistics of the goods in Temple Trees .He has lodged a complaint  to Inspector General. Of Police over  the incident. 

President Informed The Speaker That He Will Consider Convening Of Parliament And Inform

President Maithripala Sirisena has
informed the speaker Karu Jayasuriya that he will consider the speaker's request to convene Parliament soon and inform his stand on it shortly.

President has told this during a meeting held with Speaker Jayasuriya at Presidential Secretariet this evening  (31).

Speaker had met the President Sirisen a this evening to request him to convene the parliament soon as per the requests made party leaders during yesterday's party leaders meeting.

Lotus Road In Colombo Has Been Closed Due To A University Students Protest

The Entry road to Galle Face Road had
been closed down temporarily from Bank Road in Colombo Fort and Lotus Road due to a protest march of Inter University Students Federation (IUSF)it has been reported.

Due to the closure a heavy traffic has been reported in surrounding roads and Motorists are to be used an alternative roads as a result .

A Person Was Injured After A Container Truck Transporting Vehicles Colliding With A Fence

A Lorry assistant had been injured and
hospitalized after the Container Lorry he was travelling in which transported Laxurious motor cars ,colliding with the security fence of the Southern Expressway near the 22 nd Kilo Meter Post at palpola area this morning (31).

The injured had been admitted to the Nagoda Hospital for treatment.

The Female Doctor Remanded Over The Death Of a Police Inspector Released On Bail

Nugegoda Magistrate Court has
yesterday (30)ordered to release the 39 year old female child specialist who had been remanded over the killing of a Police Inspector during a COllision of Two vehicles at Wikramaratna Road in Boralesgamuwa area on 30 th of September .

The suspected female doctor who is attached to Ratnapura General Hospital and was admitted to a ward in Kalubowila Teaching Hospital without injuries although she was ordered to be Remanded ,had been released on two surety bails of Rs.500,000 each .

The suspected doctor has responsible for colliding her vehicle with a vehicle  where the Police Inspector was in according to Police. As a result of the accident the Police Inspector has died and his two sons and wife had been injured and hospitalized.

Although Police had confirmed the doctor was under the influence of liquor during the incident, The doctors of Kalubowila Hospital says she was not under the influence of liquor when she was admitted to the Hospital. 

Over Thousand Sri Lankan University Students In New Delhi Staged A Silent Protest Against President Sirisena's Move To Change Prime Minister

Over 1000 Sri Lankan Students
studying in South Asian University at New Delhi ,India had staged a protest against the President Maithripala Sirisena 's move to remove Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe from his post and appointing the Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe as New Prime Miinister according to "India Tiday" newspaper.

The Protesting students have handed over a letter of protest signed by them against president 's move to the Deputy High Commissioners office of Sri Lanka in New Delhi it has been reported.

The protested studemts had shown banners indicating the Presidents Move is an undemocratic act during the protest .

A Deer Hunter Was Injured And Another Arrested During A Gun Shooting With Police At Udawalawa Sanctuary

A deer hunter was critically injured and hospitalized due to a gun shooting incident between Special Police Task Force Personal and two deer hunters at Udawalawa sanctuary this morning  (31).

The injured who had received gun shot injuries whilest involved in killing innocent deers of the sanctuary for meet had been admitted to Udawalawa Hospital and later transferred to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for treatment .

Police Task Force Personal have arrested a deer hunter along with few deers killed for meet ,A t-56 firearm ,A magasine and 27 bullets in possession of him at Udawalawa sanctuary according to Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare .

The suspect has been identified as a person who has several court cases against murders and formally attached to Army .

Lawyer Nagananda Kodithuwakku Has Field A Petition At Supreme Court Seeking A Court Order To Cancel The Gazette Prorogueing The Parliament

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya To Discuss With President Regarding Convening Of Parliament

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has yesterday
(30)informed the Party leaders that he will discuss with President Maithripala Sirisena and try to convene the Parliament as soon as possible during the special Party Leaders Meeting held under the patronage of Speaker at Parliamentary complex .

A Stock Of Illegal Explosives Had Been Taken In To Custody At A House In Hambanthota

attached to Suriyawewa Base have taken in to custody a stock of Explosives including Detonators ,Ammonium Nitrate and Dynamite in securely and illegally stored at a house in Pahala Andarawewa area, in Hambanthota (Southern Province)yesterday  (30).

Among the stock of Explosives that have taken into custody were 920 Deternators functioning with electricity ,more than 1200 Dynamite pills and 25 Kilo Grammes of Ammonium Nitrate stored in more than 50 Grammes according to sources .

These Explosives had been taken in to custody as per the information received by the Special Police Task Force Personal.

UPFA General. Secretary Had Requested The Speaker To GI've Rights And Privilages Of Prime Minister To New Prime Minister

People's Freedom.Alliance  (UPFA) has today (30)requested the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya  to give every right and privilages entitled to the Prime Minister's post  to the newly elected Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe.

In a letter sent to the Speaker Jayasuriya ,UPFA General secretary  Mahinda Amaraweera has stressed that President Sirisena had appointed Mahinda Rajapakshe as the New Prime Minister according to the powers vested to him  through the Constitution. 

Speaker Again Requested The President For The Second Time To Convene The Parliament

again requested the President Maithripala Sirisena for the second time ,to convene the Parliament as soon as possible to solve the current political conflict in the country .

In a letter sent to the President Sirisena, Speaker has stressed that  around 126 MP's  and four parties including the United National Party had requested him to convene the Parliament .

Therefore Speaker had requested the President to convene the Parliament and give power to the party which commands the majority in Parliament. If not people will take alternative action he has said.

Prorogueing the Parliament until 16 th of November is disrespecting democratic rights Speaker has stressed.

Speaker has also convened a Party leaders meeting at Parliamentary complex to discuss on the current political situation of the country.

Meanwhile Two British MP's have said in British Parliament today (30) that Sri Lankan President should convene the Parliament. One Conservative MP has said the British Government will only recognize Ranil Wikramasinghe as Sri Lanka"s  Prime Minister.

Another UNP MP Jumped To The Presidents Side-News On Bribes To Offer For Jumping MP's - President Gazetted 12 Cabinet And State Ministers Appointed Yesterday

MP Dunesh Gankanda has today (30)joined the newly appointed Cabinet of President Maithripala Sirisena and sworn in as State Minister of Enviornment before the President at Presidential Secretariet this evening  .

With him around Five UNP MP's had joined president and sworn in as Minister's, Deputy Minister's and State Nimister's it has been revealed. The other UNP MP's that accepted Ministerial portfolios of the newly appointed Cabinet are WijeDasa Rajapakshe, Wasantha Senanayake,Wadivel Suresh and Ananda Aluth Gamage.

It has been reported that bribes  upto Rs.200 million are being offered for MP's who are willing to jump to the side of newly appointed government from other parties .

Meanwhile Presidential Secretariet has today gazetted the names of 12 Cabinet ,State and Deputy Ministers appointed by President yesterday (29).

President Sirisena Has Told Foreign Ambassadors He Had Appointed a New Premier According To Constitution

President Maithripala Sirisena has told
the Foreign Ambassadors and High Commissioners in Sri Lanka yesterday(29)  that he had appointed a New Prime Minister due to problems had in previous National coalition government and the appointment has done according to the Constitution ,during a meeting held with around 40 Ambassadors and High Commissioners in  Sri Lanka at President s office in Colombo .

Two Persons Had Been Killed -One Injured Due To A Road Accident

Two persons had been killed and one
person had been injured and hospitalized after a Motorcycle colliding with a pedestrian last night (28)at egodauyana ,Moratuwa in Colombo-Galle main road .

The three injured persons including the Motorcyclist ,Pillion rider and the pedestrian had been admitted to Panadura Hospital where the critically injured 21 year old Motorcyclist and 48 year old pedestrian had succumbed to their injuries .

The incident occurred when the Motorcycle travelling from Egodauyana to Panadura collided with a pedestrian who crossed the road at that time it has been revealed.

Kandy High Court Ordered To Release Six Suspects Including Mahason Balakaya Leader On Bail

Kandy High Court has today
(29)ordered to release the six suspects including the leader of "Mahasone Balakaya "who had been arrested and remanded over the tense situation occurred in Theldeniya, Kandy last March .

Accordingly the suspects had been ordered to release on cash bail of Rs.25,000 each and two surety bails of Rs.500,000 each .
